Title: Board of Advisors
Term: 1 year
MISSION
Our mission is to cultivate and empower Asian & Pacific Islander leaders through professional development, community service, and networking. Serving pan-Asian, pan-professional members, the DC chapter continues to provide premier leadership programming annually, including one of NAAAP’s longest-running and most successful regional leadership conferences. Furthermore, the DC chapter is dedicated to community engagement through local partnerships and community service.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
At the core, the Board’s role is to:
- Ensure that NAAAP DC’s activities and transactions are, first and foremost, advancing its mission;
- Ensure NAAAP DC prudently uses all assets, including facility, people, and goodwill;
- Ensure that NAAAP DC complies with applicable laws and regulations, follows its own bylaws, and that NAAAP DC adheres to its stated corporate purposes/mission
- Give legal perspective
- Perform other duties as assigned
Additional Board of Advisor duties/features/obligations include, but are not limited to:
- 1-year term through the end of 2022.
- Non-voting member of the Board of Trustees.
- Purchase membership for the length of your service (currently $35 per year).
- Must attend a minimum of 1 board meeting per quarter, unless excused by the Board Chair. Notification must be given at least 24 hours in advance. If more than 1 absence is unexcused, the position on the Board will be subject to review by the Board Chair.
- Support all events financially and/or with other resources.
- Advise an executive team member.
- Represent NAAAP DC externally, for sponsorships and other relationships.
